Feature and Follow Friday #1

Feature and Follow Friday is a weekly meme hosted by Alison Can Read and Parajunkee. The goal is to meet new people and gain more followers in the book blogging community. If you would like to join in the fun just visit one of the host's blog for the rules.
This is my first #FF ever, I hope it's going to be fun!

This week's question:
Have you broken up with a series? If so which one and why?

Unfortunately, yes. There have been series that I quit before the end. Here are a few of them:

  • House of Night
  •  Sookie Stackhouse,
  • Fallen
  • Hush, Hush
These series were fun the first few books, but then they became boring, slow-paced and just not interesting. I might finish them some day, but not now. I have also read many first books of series that I just did not like and thus did not continue the series, but that would take ages to sum up:)

I never could bring myself to read any of the above series, though I just might, maybee read Hush,Hush. Not anytime soon though.

  2. I loved Hush, Hush at first, though I wasn't THAT impressed with the sequels. I got around to finishing them though! Welcome to the hop :)

I'm Jasmine, a new follower. I see you're pretty new, like me, but you're doin' great!

  3. Welcome! Lots of people have been choosing House of Night. Somehow, I've actually read all ten that are out. I totally see why you'd quit though. My FF can be found at my blog Music Plus Books.
    Wishing you a lovely weekend,

  4. The HoN seems to be a popular answer. I also gave up on it after book 3 or so because the mc and the romance really started to annoy me.

  9. I gave up on FALLEN and the SHIVER series. Neither of those really worked for me, and I don't think I'd ever be able to read them haha

  10. I broke up with Fallen and Hush, Hush too.... and forgot to include them in my post. This FF is making me realize how often I quit series lol.

  15. Thanks for your comment on my FF post, I'm following you via Bloglovin :D

A lot of people seem to have dumped the House of Night series. I didn't include it in my FF post, but I did dump that series. Well actually I don't know. I can't seem to bring myself to read the latest book. The series, like the Vampire Diaries, got repetitive and boring and I can't see where the plot is leading to. (Also all the boys love Zoey. I hear the sounds of Mary Sues in the distance)

So yeah. Great post, welcome to the hop, not that I'm a veteran either.

  16. I quit the first House of Night book about halfway through - I'd already heard horrible reviews for the series and honestly I wasn't enjoying the story at all. Isn't the series like eleven books long? Yikes.

  18. I never started Fallen. I remember when it first hit the shelves (Borders was still in business). I had it in my hands, but I think I went with a hot paranormal romance instead. hehe. Thanks for stopping by. I made sure to follow via bloglovin (and GFC). Have a great weekend!

  20. Love your list! I haven't decided on whether or not to bail on Fallen and Sookie just yet. I finally finished Hush, Hush. Enjoyed books two and three, the others not quite so much. So I completely understand the breakup.

Happy Friday. Thanks for stopping by earlier and am following via Bloglovin. GFC no longer allows me to follow from my Fiktshun account. :(

I have Fallen and Hush, Hush on my TBR shelf! I'll take a 2nd look at whether I want to read Fallen or not, but for Hush, Hush, I have two friends who would die if I didn't read the series, so I kind of have to, haha!

  23. I have had Hush,Hush on my TBR for a while but I have seen it on this post for a few other people so I am not in a big hurry to check it out. Thanks for stopping by my FF. New bloglovin follower :-)

  24. I liked the Hush Hush series, until I read Finale, and hated that one. I stopped reading the House of Night series after Burned, and I can't even remember what the series is about! I stopped reading the Fallen series after Fallen! lol

  33. Sookie Stackhouse---I have not read it yet and I don't think I ever will. I did watch the first episode of True Blood but nah it's just not my thing. For TV series about vampire I think Vampire Diaries is better.
Fallen and Hush, Hush ---ah those are angel books right. I just hope you don't lose hope on angel book because there are pretty good ones out there such as Unearthly by Cynthia Hand or AngelFall by Susan Ee.

  35. I'm such a glutton for punishment that I should have given up on all of those as well, but sadly I've read them all. I just have to read that final Sookie Stackhouse book, and I can wipe my hands of that series. Who the heck knows when the stupid House of Night series will end. I don't know how much longer I can stand the pain. Thanks for visiting my FF. New bloglovin follower.

  41. I haven't read Hush, Hush yet though it is on my to-read list. I really enjoyed the Fallen series- the last one is actually the best in the whole. I can see why House of Night and Sookie though. I haven't completely given up on them, but I have now gotten to where I wait a long time before purchasing any in those series. 46. Wow. Your blog is fantastic!

I refuse to read Sookie Stackhouse. I heard A) how it ends and B) I'm in Georgia and I can barely stand southern accents on a good day. The grammar in the book kills me. KILLS ME.

  48. I haven't read the other series, but with Sookie, I've enjoyed the books so far. I'm just afraid the last two books will make me hate the entire series and make me feel like I've wasted my time. I don't know how it ends, but it doesn't sound like I'm going to be happy with it since so many readers seem to hate it with a passion. Thanks for stopping by my FF and following me! 54. I haven't broken up with a series as I usually don't continue if I don't like the first book. I saw the House of Night and Hush, Hush on other blogs too. I haven't read the latest HoN and I'm in no hurry to. I did finish the Fallen series though I debated doing so and the ending wasn't bad, I really enjoyed the ending to series. I wasn't able to get past the first few chapters in Hush, Hush and after seeing it on a few blogs as series people have broken up with, I'm glad I didn't persist through that first book.
