I absolutely loved the VA book series, so you can imagine how excited I was when they announced a VA movie. Meanwhile the filming has wrapped up and some lovely material has been released to the public. Time for a wrap up!
- The movie is going to be released at the 13th of February 2014 (USA).
- The official name is Vampire Academy: Blood Sisters. I'm not sure whether the movie is based on book 1 or multiple books.
- The official synopsis:

- The official synopsis:
Rose Hathaway is a Dhampir, half human/vampire, guardians of the Moroi, peaceful, mortal vampires living discretely within our world. Her legacy is to protect the Moroi from bloodthirsty, immortal Vampires, the Strigoi. This is her story.
- Big News: this week we got the first teaser trailer!
I'm not sure whether I liked the teaser. It was really confusing and if I hadn't read the books I wouldn't have a clue what the movie would be about. It looked like some kind of high school drama with vampires that turns really violent.
Hopefully the next trailer(s) will be better and more explanatory.
- Some promotional pictures.
The actress who plays Lissa (Lucy Fry) is not really how I pictured Lissa to be , but I'm sure she will do an excellent job. And I love how they actually cast a Russian actor for Dimitri, he definitely looks the part.
- A BTS photo of Rose and Dimitri
So sweet!

- And finally the movie poster.
That's it for the wrap up. I can't wait for the movie to come out!
Follow IMBD and the VA Facebook for new photos and trailers.
And what about you? Are you excited for the movie? Is the movie a bit like you pictured it in the books so far?
Uh, yes, the trailer is confusing, and as a non-reader of the series, I have no idea what the whole book's supposed to be about. But hopefully, the movie would satisfy for you fans!
ReplyDeleteI am crazy excited about this! I should try and be less excited just in case haha. I'll love it anyway. I agree about the trailer. I wonder if we'll get a second one? Also I'm pretty sure this one is just based on the first book.
ReplyDeleteHi the movie is only based on the first book in the series, Vampire academy :)
ReplyDeleteI don't know why but even though I'm really excited for the movie to be released,I wasn't that impressed when I saw the teaser.
ReplyDeleteOkay, thank you!
ReplyDeleteI had the same thing, the movie just looked a bit weird in the teaser..
ReplyDeleteI agree, the trailer was confusing. On Richelle Mead's website, she has a couple of links to interviews about the movie and about the trailer in particular, which are pretty interesting to read. She seems pretty happy with everything so hopefully we will be too! ~Pam
ReplyDeleteThe books are my favorite series, but I'm not sure about the movie ;/ The trailer didn't interest me at all and, like you said, it sounds like some high school drama with vamps and blood. I hope the official trailer would be better, because book-to-movie adaptations are often bad... *sigh*
ReplyDeleteErr... I'm not so sure about that trailer :/ it doesn't help that I don't know anyone of the actors either XD But I definitely loved the books! It was so sad when it ended D: I actually think I might give the movies a try... I love watching movies based on book. HAHA!
ReplyDeleteI haven't even read the books and I thin the trailer is really bad...
ReplyDeleteOh, okay, I'll check those out, thanks:)
ReplyDeleteI know right.. I'm always so excited for book movies, but most of the time they disappoint me :(
